Mommy n’ daddy stay in the streets so guess who raise me...THE STREETS. No, not really though. Both your mother and I come from very loving and attentive families. Our people are a bit crazy, but good people for sure. Our lives, nor yours, has much in common with Young Dolph’s. By the time you read this, music will certainly be completely different. So for informational purposes, Young Dolph is a rapper from Memphis that has a hit or two about the ratchet side of life. And your parents are no strangers to ratchet. We know it very well actually.

That being the case, it shouldn't surprise us that you, in only your third month of life, are showing some ratchet tendencies. There is one in particular that your mother and I quite enjoy. Without beating around the bush, you lift your hands and feet into a motorcycle riding position whenever your bowels are on the move. I'm talking arms bent at approximately 123 degrees, legs up and angled at 90. You hop on your chopper and ride off into the sunset with a face of gangsta content.

To clarify, you're not actually moving around the living room in a squat position. You lay there on your back, hands and feet to the sky. To add to this already outrageous scene, your “exhaust pipe” is going full throttle. “Pop, boop, pop, pop, pop.” It is not my goal to embarrass you, so I will not mention the smell more than to say there is one present. It's strong. You have this rough and tumble look on your face and a serious grunt going, so we allow you to finish your ride before swooping in to change the seat.

Really though, it's antics like this that make being a parent so refreshing. Everything you do is new. Whether it is ”Ghostridin’ the whip” or you clapping your feet before you can clap your hands, you are constantly learning and progressing. Always forward, never ceasing. Each and every one of your days is filled with new experiences, even whilst we attempt to put you on a schedule. Believe it or not, it's quite motivating for me.

Adulting can be really monotonous. It's easy to find yourself doing the exact same thing over and over and over again. Everyday exactly like the last. No new experiences, no new learned skills, not even new foods. We adults call this “the grind” and it sucks. But you bring a new and bright light to such a gloomy situation. Not only is everything you do new and life changing for us, but it inspires me to get out my “routine” from time to time. I want to learn things again. I feel awakened, though you always have me pretty sleepy. I know that's probably a bit confusing.

However, I can't thank you enough for the breath of fresh air you represent. What else do you have up your sleeves fella?? You could already have your own reality TV show, unscripted even. I know it won't always be laughs, but I do know they'll come in abundance. I know it wasn't that long ago that I called you a monster, but today I'll call you a ball of joy. Your my motivator and educator, and I love you very much son. Keep the newness (and laughs) coming, and I'll do the same.
