It's Your Birthday - Day 366

Well g, we made it brotha!
A year and a day around the sun and you're a healthy 1 year old with 4 teeth and all your limbs intact. I want to thank God and your mother for helping to make this accomplishment happen. We had to climb a mountain or three to get here, but we've reached the finish line of your infancy. You're no longer a baby; you're a man now, and it's time to start acting like it.
You'll now need to find a way to contribute to our household. You refuse to walk on your own, though we all know you can. You understand the concept of falling much to well to have not fallen that often. But that means manual labor and chores are out. That leaves bringing in some money. I would suggest a modeling gig as you're quite photogenic. Tell your people to talk to my people. Maybe we can talk to your Uncle Nigel about getting you in movies.
You did a good job of acting your age at your birthday party today. You went napless all day, but didn't throw a fit. You lounged in the pool like a grown man. You decided against a cupcake because you're watching your figure. You even provided pleasant conversation to all of your guests. Come to think of it, you really transitioned from infancy to toddler quite seamlessly.
I can't even remember when it happened. One day you needed assistance to even hold your head up and now you pull up to a stand using any object around. From human legs to tables to pillows, everything is a climbing tool. You were boobs and bottles only for so long. Now, you're devouring everything in sight, reaching for my plate for more. You eat literally everything, lemons are one of your favorites. That particular taste bud didn't come from me. The always being held to never wanting to be held transition occurred the fastest. You're breaking hearts with the put me down whine you do, but everyone still loves you to death.
Speaking of love, so many family members and friends came through for your birthing anniversary. You had guests travel hundreds of miles and cross multiple state lines to attend your soiree. You had 5 grandmothers in the building, both Grand and Great Grand. You got Granny A on an airplane. “She had to come down for her SUGA LUGA”, and she doesn’t fly for just anyone. Actually, she doesn’t fly at all, so much respect. They all want to be a constant presence in your life. They settle for big events and weekend getaways for your mom and I, but I’m blessed to have you around everyday. Stand on that love forever, my g.
Here is to 100 more celebrations of you. We love you to the Son and back. Thank you for the laughs and smiles, and please don't grow up too fast. Honestly, you can slow it down a tad right now. From everyone from Gram, Pop, and Aunt Paula to Auntie, Mia and your cousins on cousins on cousins to Mommy and I...
Happy Birthday Grayson
